Too much Coffee, Sketchbooks and to finish off the week Sunshine!

A long post today, as I catch up on a week of laziness with my blog. This is starting to become a habit that I must break so thanks all who have stuck through the sparing posts. Today is the first day this week that I could function without the assistance of coffee (thought I had one anyway)! I have had a pretty amazing week, finally starting to get on top of things which is a good feeling. After my Oxfam presentation last week, I received a business card from a lady and was said to get in contact. Turns out they were from the studio of my dreams and I got to go out an have coffee with them and talk about where I wanted to go when I finished uni! This was great as I learned so many things and it was great to get an idea of the inside design world.

Today has been amazing! Nice sunny day, first time I am not running round like a crazy person trying to get a million things done! I enjoyed this free time by going to North cote Pottery Supplies with a friend, as they had an open day today! I love ceramics, it was one of my favourite subjects when I was at Brighton Bay so I was totally in my element! Now all I need is spare time so I can make some pieces!! I bought a gorgeous bowl from Sarah Chembri, I wish I could have bought all of it but I am going to Adelaide in a few weeks so need to save, save, save. You can find Sarah's website here - http://sarahschembri.com/ Afterwards I started making my own little watercolour book with some beautiful paper that I bought from Zetta Florence. I like to collect weird seed pots and other natural things so I did a bit of sketching in the new book.

Below I have also put the teaser book intro that I have been working on (still in draft stage). This chapter doesn't have as much of the textile elements as the rest of the book but is talking about pulling inspiration from everywhere not just your own medium, which all good artists do. Work on the book has come to a bit of a stand still as we are not sure if we will get funded on Pozible. As each day goes by (8 days left), we get more anxious as we have done so much work and can see how beautiful it can be so hopefully (crossing all fingers and toes) it comes off!!

So I thought whilst making my little sketchbook, that I will offer one of these little book through my blog as an extra if you pledge to our cause. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and pledge on the the Pozible site (link is here - http://www.pozible.com/project/184577#updates) and if we get funded I will put all the people who comment into a hat and pull out a lucky winner! Who knows you may even get a few one off illustrations by me, inside the pages as well!! Those who have already pledged, you can still have a chance to win a sketchbook - just comment below. Thank you to all the people who have pledge or will pledge, it is amazing to have all your support and help this dream come to life.
